Parenting Through Divorce

A four-hour parenting course approved by the Superior Court of Cowlitz County, located in Washington State.

This course was created for divorcing and separating parents who have minor children. It is also designed to address the needs of children and families in transition.

As a part of the course, parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to learn new and effective ways of communicating with their children and with each other, around the issues of divorce and transition.

Class topics will include:

The Language of Transition and Divorce
Effective Communication
Parenting Goals
Child Development
The Grief and Loss Experience for Children
The Significant Impact of Child Abuse and Neglect, Substance Abuse and Domestic Violence
Understanding Parenting Plans
The Importance of Visitation for both Parents and Children
Step-Parenting, Blended Families & Single-Parenting
Resources for Children, Parents and Families

The cost of this course including your Completion Certificate is $35.00 per person.

Payment of $35.00 per class member can be paid on our website or you can mail your payment to our office located at:

Please Note:
Payment in the form of cash, check or money order must be received at least 48 hours prior to class.
Please indicate when you register if you do not want to take the class with your partner or family member.
Please arrive on time for the class. Participants who arrive late will not be admitted.
Children are not permitted to attend the class. There is no daycare available onsite during the class.
Certificates of completion will be given to participants at the end of the class. Please make a copy of your certificate for your records.
